Kent's "Hooligan Libertarian" Blog

This blog is the clearinghouse for all the writings of Kent McManigal. Gather 'round and read my hard-core, REAL, libertarian/anarchist views on just about everything. I also write a weekly column for the Clovis News Journal, as well as sporadic columns elsewhere, plus stuff here that you'll find nowhere else. Enjoy!

It's not me, it's you.

If everyone around you is an idiot, or is always "out to get you", that may be a hint that "they" might not be the real problem.

If "you" are a country, and you are always at war with someone somewhere for some reason, that might be a clue that the problem isn't all the other countries, but You.

No country actually exists. "Country" is an abstract.

You exist. I exist. Lots and lots of individuals exist. And there are lots and lots of psychopaths who try to make you and I think they have some "right" to rule some or all of those individuals.

The world, however, revolves around MY belly-button -- not yours. My world.

That bit of knowledge gives me a distinct advantage. Because I know your world revolves around YOUR belly-button, whether you admit it or not. Therefore, if you and I disagree over an item or topic I know it is not because you mean me harm. It's because you see the thing from the perspective of your belly-button.

That's a real bit of freedom when you think about it.
